What Are User Lists?

User Lists are personal collections you create to organize comics however you want — "Best Batman Runs", "To Read", "Favorite Artists", whatever. Every account comes with a built-in Wishlist that's always private and can't be deleted. Beyond that, you can create custom lists up to your account's limit.

What Goes in a List#

A list holds anything you put in it: issues, series, characters, creators, story arcs and teams, in any combination. There is nothing to pick when you create one.

Smart lists are the exception. A smart list fills itself from a rule you build, so its items cannot be edited by hand, and a rule matches one kind of item rather than a mix. Smart lists are a Pro feature — see How Smart Lists Work.

Free vs PRO Limits#

Feature Free PRO
Custom lists Up to 10 Unlimited
Items per list Up to 100 Up to 500
Private custom lists No Yes
Private wishlist Yes Yes

List Features#

  • Ranked or unranked — decide if position matters
  • Public or private — control who can see it (PRO required for private custom lists)
  • Notes — add personal context to any item
  • Variants — for an issue, pin a specific cover variant
  • Save and like — interact with other people's public lists
  • Comments — discuss someone's public list in a thread on the list page

Browsing Public Lists#

The main lists page at versedb.com/my/lists shows your own lists and lets you browse public lists from other users. Filter by what a list holds (issues, characters, etc.) and sort by most popular, newest, or most saved.
