Sharing Lists and Privacy Settings

You control who sees your lists. Public lists show on your profile and in list discovery; private lists are yours alone.

Privacy by Account Type#

List type Free PRO
Wishlist Private or public (your choice) Private or public
Custom lists Always public Private or public

Upgrade to PRO if you need private custom lists — free accounts can make their wishlist private but custom lists stay public.

Changing Privacy#

Open the list, click Edit, toggle Private on or off, and save. Your wishlist's default is controlled by the Make wishlist public setting in your profile settings — flip it there if you want every future wishlist item to inherit a different default.

Public vs Private#

When a list is public:

  • Anyone can view it without an account
  • It appears in search and list discovery
  • Other users can save it, like it, and comment on it
  • It appears on your public profile

When a list is private:

  • Only you can see it
  • It's excluded from search, discovery, and your public profile

Sharing a Public List#

Copy the URL from your browser — public list URLs follow the pattern versedb.com/list/{username}/{id}/{slug}. Send the link anywhere. If someone says the link doesn't work, check that the list is still set to public.

Tip

Comments are the way people give feedback on a list. A list is never star-rated the way an issue is.
