How to Level Up Faster

XP is earned by getting edits approved. A few habits move you up the leaderboard faster.

Aim at the Higher-Value Fields#

Not every approved edit is worth the same. Minor fields and pivot removals pay 3 XP, most standard fields pay 10, a substantial field such as a description pays 20, and creating a new entity such as a story arc pays 50.

So one well-researched description is worth roughly seven small field tweaks. Depth beats volume here.

Make Each Edit Count#

Complete edits earn more than partial ones. When adding or updating content:

  • Fill every field you can verify
  • Add cover images when possible
  • Include creator credits (writer, penciller, colorist, etc.)
  • Link characters and story arcs where relevant

Warning

Don't pad your numbers with low-quality edits or opinion changes. Rejected edits earn nothing, and a pattern of rejections slows your future reviews.

Find Gaps#

The fastest approvals are on fields that need filling:

  • Indie publishers often have sparse metadata
  • Older series may have incomplete issue lists
  • Creator credits are frequently missing, especially for back-issue runs
  • Character appearances on individual issues are often unlinked

Stay Consistent#

A few careful edits every week beats occasional bursts. Consistency builds familiarity with the system, keeps your approval rate strong, and earns you XP steadily.

See Earning XP, Leveling Up, and Auto-Approval for the milestone table. At Level 5 (Enthusiast), once you have five approved edits and none rejected, edits to empty fields start going live without waiting for review.
