Founded in 1919 in Minnesota by Wilford Hamilton Fawcett, this American publisher began with the humor magazine Captain Billy's Whiz Bang and later added Mechanix Illustrated, Family Circle and more. Fawcett Comics started in 1939 and introduced Captain Marvel, and the line ended in 1953.
