The Yagyū clan slaughters Ogami Ittō's wife and frames the shōgun's executioner for treason. Cast out, he chooses meifumadō, the road to hell. With his infant son Daigorō, he roams Japan as an assassin for hire, plotting revenge on the Yagyū.
