Alan Grant (1949-2022) was a Scottish writer who co-wrote Judge Dredd with John Wagner through much of the 1980s. He took over Detective Comics from issue #583 in 1988 and later wrote Batman: Shadow of the Bat, co-creating Anarky and Victor Zsasz.
