Yukinobu Hoshino
Japanese manga artist born in 1954 in Kushiro, Hokkaido, working in hard science fiction in the gekiga tradition. He debuted in 1975 with a Tezuka Prize win. His best-known work is 2001 Nights, a set of interconnected science fiction stories.
