A cantankerous cat from the Terrytoons studio, introduced in the 1939 short Hook Line and Sinker and carried into decades of comic books. He is almost always paired with Gandy Goose as a mismatched duo, and his voice was an impression of Jimmy Durante. He ran through the Terry-Toons Comics line.
