Frank Payne is the original Constrictor, a Marvel mercenary who fights with electrified, prehensile metal cables at his wrists. Created by Len Wein and John Romita Sr., he debuted against the Hulk in The Incredible Hulk #212 in 1977. He began as a SHIELD agent sent undercover into the Corporation.
